Life Chemicals

Evyap’s oleochemicals business line was established at the end of 2014 as a natural extension of the Group’s bar soap operations and began operations in the Johor region of Malaysia with an initial annual production capacity of 250,000 tons. In its early years, the business mainly met the needs of Evyap’s global bar soap production network and, over time, achieved steady growth and evolved into an independent business unit.

A major capacity expansion completed in 2019 increased total production capacity to 400,000 tons, and the business moved beyond a domestic-focused structure to gain a strong export orientation. Today, Evyap oleochemicals supplies high-quality products to more than 500 customers across 70 countries worldwide.

Evyap began the production of specialty chemicals at its Malaysia facility in 2021, marking a strategic expansion in this field. As part of this expansion, two specialty chemicals plants were commissioned and a new business line was established. In 2023, a third specialty chemicals plant was successfully brought into operation.

Over time, this area of activity at Evyap has gone beyond basic oleochemical production and evolved into a structure that offers advanced and specialized chemical solutions for a wide range of uses, from everyday life to industrial applications. Evyap products are used across a broad spectrum, from consumer products such as food and fragrances to critical industrial inputs for the rubber and plastics industries.

All products fall into the category of environmentally friendly green chemicals derived from renewable, sustainable, and plant-based raw materials.

Evyap has restructured its related activities under the Life Chemicals Group to reflect this transformation and strategic direction.

Life Chemicals

The Group consists of two main business lines:

Basic Oleochemicals: Fatty acids, glycerin, and soap noodles

Specialty Chemicals: Advanced solutions for a wide range of industries and applications

The Life Chemicals Group aims to reach a total annual production capacity of 680,000 tons after the completion of ongoing investments, including 650,000 tons of Basic Oleochemicals and 30,000 tons of Specialty Chemicals.
